GENERAL GOVERNMENT BUDGET REVIEW MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:00.
Al recused himself at 7:03 during the presentation of the Treasurer/Collector's budget review. Jean discussed increased postage and a bigger lock box costing more as the town has grown and more payments are mailed into the box. She noted mileage has gone up due to the federal increase in rates. Bank charges have also gone up as some residents pay their bills through online banking. Jean discussed GASB#45 that is done every other year. The town is looking into new plans to lower insurance costs. Al returned at 7:30.
The Accountant reviewed her budget and answered questions. She noted an increase in Audit costs.
The Assessor reviewed her budget and answered questions.
The Assistant Town Clerk reviewed her budget and answered questions.
The IT Director reviewed his budget and answered questions.
The Personnel budget reflects increased health insurance costs.
A motion by Paul 2nd by Glenn to approve the minutes of March 4, 2009 was voted unanimously (abstained Jim and Maria).
A motion by Paul 2nd by Jim to approve the minutes of March 11, 2009 was voted unanimously (abstained Peter).
A motion by Paul 2nd by Marilynn to recommend approval of Article 7 to the March 31, 2009 Special Town Meeting was voted unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 9:25.
